Games to 11 Points
Game: 11 points, win by 2 points.
- Match: Best 3 out of 5 games.
Alternate Serves Every 2 Points
- Serve alternates every 2 points.
- At 10-10 (deuce), serve alternates every point.
- You can lose on a serve.
Toss the Ball Straight Up When Serving
- Serve from behind your table end, toss the ball 15cm up, and hit on the way down.
- The ball must hit your side first.
- Once tossed, the ball is in play; missed serves are points for the opponent.
Serve Can Land Anywhere in Singles
- No restrictions on where the ball lands.
- Multiple bounces on the opponent's side score a point for you.
Let Serves
- A ball hitting the net during a rally is valid if it lands correctly.
- Serve hitting the net and landing legally is a "let" and is redone with no limit.
No Volleys
- Hitting the ball before it bounces results in a point for the opponent.
- If the ball goes off the table and hits you or your paddle, it’s your point.
Self-Returning Hits
- If your hit bounces back over the net after touching the opponent’s side without their touch, it’s your point.
Touching the Ball with Paddle Hand
- A ball touching your paddle hand (below the wrist) is legal.
- A ball touching any other part of the body is the opponent’s point unless it missed the table first.
No Touching the Table with Non-Paddle Hand
- Touching the table with the non-paddle hand results in the opponent’s point.
- Table movement during a rally results in the opponent’s point.
Edge Balls
- Edge of the table (horizontal top surface) hits are valid.
- Vertical sides are not part of the legal playing surface.
- Honor System for Disagreements
- Without a referee, players should resolve disputes themselves or replay the point.
- Maintain fair play and sportsmanship.
